Mindy, I'm from the TOG loose threads list and I just wanted to thank you for posting your experience with setting captives free. I followed your link to the website and joined that day. I didn't realized that it's associated with John Piper until coming here to your blog today, and that makes me feel even better about the program.

I'm very encouraged with The Lord's Table. I can't follow the diet recommendations because I'm nursing a baby right now, but I can definitely stop overeating and turn to God instead of food.

Thanks again, and I hope that the mentoring program goes well for you. Sincerely, Guinever

Mindy,
Thank you for your encouraging words today!! I struggle with this so often!!! I have thought about this SO much. The part where you said, "am I approaching their sin, weakness, foolishness with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience?" Too often I am not. Thankfully, God doesn't deal with me the way I deal with my kids (and other people) sometimes. Thanks for spurring me on to be more humble, more gracious mother and friend. I am glad you decided to update. It had been a while. I always look forward to reading your posts.

love,
Amber :)

I bought this book for my brother who is 19 and in his first year at ACU. I grew christian and ran into everything that was in that book, either from myself or friends. I had to find my own faith. And praise God i did. One thing I can say is that teach, teach , teach the truth and show your children how God helps you daily! Even in the bad times let your children see your strenths and weeknesses in Christ and how powerful Christ is to overcome. Walk it and let them see it. Blessings, Cynthia

I pray my brother is reading the book now! I asked him to read it before he left to go back to school.

Mindy-I love this story and thanks for sharing it. I can't express into words what an act of love for you this is. For him to acknowledge the magnitude of her life in yours is priceless. I find it very hard sometimes to comprehend that my father will not get to know his namesake. But this gives me encouragement that he will one day ask me, "why Lester". It seems such a big name for a little boy. I will be able to share my love for my Daddy through his name and what an impact my dad was in my life. Your Nana was for you like my daddy was for me and we are blessed to have been given such a wonderful guidian here on earth. I can't imagine how I would have gotten through my life without him. At times it seemed he was the only one who truly loved me. I miss having a Daddy and calling MY daddy every single day. I am working on leaning on my heavenly Father when the saddness seems unbearable but there is much work to do. I am clearly not there yet. I have to go know because I can't even see what I am typing. Sorry.

Love,

Koni

I love you and pray that God will fill your emptyness with His love.

Thank you for the reminder...for the encouragement. I'm finding myself relating to her so well in this season of my life. Not because I'm crippled, but because I know how weak I am. When we are the weakest that's when we find Him the strongest. And what a place to be!! Why would we want to be anywhere else really, than totally dependent on our Savior?

Mindy-
I'm so sorry to hear about your Nana. My Grandmother that I was really close to died unexpectedly 2 weeks ago, so I feel a similar loss. I am so glad you were able to come be with your family for the funeral. I was thankful I was able to spend lots of time with my parents during the last 2 weeks. I will be praying for safe travel for you & for that sweet new baby too.
Love & Blessings,
Jenni
