Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good!

Tonight Justin provided me with just what I needed. As I was tucking him in he said, “You’re the best Mommy I’ve ever had”. I laughed and said, “I’m the only Mommy you’ve ever had.” Then, he said, “You’re still the best Mommy I’ve ever had”. I told him that I really needed to hear that tonight!

Today was a really hard day of homeschooling. I dealt with some extreme complaining and was just hopeless in the end. Jeremy and I are in the process of coming up with a plan to help our wayward child with this pattern of sin. Please keep us in prayer and our precious little one. Pray that God would break his heart and open his eyes to his own sin. Without God we are without hope, but we know that He keeps His promises. May He strengthen us to trust in Him and His wisdom during this time. It is so humbling being a parent…realizing that we are totally dependent on the Lord and at His complete mercy for all the outcomes. Lord, please help us to be faithful!!

How far into the school “year” are you? did you stop at all for summer? We started yesterday and I will tell you - EVERY year, for those first couple of days I want to drag them down to the public school and enroll them! I don’t b/c God hasnt told me to stop homeschooling. lol. But man, I sure dream about it on those start up days!

    Jenn,

This was day TWO and we’d taken almost 2 months off. This is not a new behavior that comes out at the beginning of the year only, but a pattern. There was good fruit of repentance last night when Jeremy spent time with him around the topic. So, hopefully today I will (with the Lord’s help) be able to point him back to that. New mercies every morning.

Wednesday was a much better day. On Tuesday night this child shared that there was fear concerning not being able to stop sinning. Jeremy was then able to share the Gospel. This is exactly why we need a Savior, because we can’t stop sinning on our own!! The Lord helped our little one as he wrote James 4: 6 in his journal and read vs. 6-10. God is faithful!

Please keep praying for us as we disciple our child and ask the Lord for His help for wisdom concerning consequences and truths to share.

    Love you all

Thanks, Tamra! I needed that reminder of what God has done in my life…oh, who knows where I’d be now if HE hadn’t intervened!

    Love you friend,

Mindy, I dont know if you remember me but we were at the Chapel right before you guys left. I got your link to your blog through Tamara. We just spent a year in a charter public school. It was small offered great teaching (it was classical), BUT!!!! OH MY> Let me encourage you. They will have issues with studying and obedience regardless if they are in school or not. You just have to deal with the issues from 4pm till betime, and with a large family it feels impossible to truly train a child in that amount of time between the homework extra activities a school expects. We are now back to teaching at home, and I am cherishing every moment. PRAISE GOD! I have those moments of frustration, but now I know the grass was not greener and I forfeited of our families vision of raising Godly children. SO, sister in Christ let me encourage you and pray with you that if God has called you teaching those babies then you will not walk alone! (by the way my oldest was the hardest with attitude and heart issues when it came to schooling) Stand strong and I know you are pregnant and remember these days will pass and all to quick they will be graduated! My God grant us all His grace and mercy for the task He has called us too.
