Well, this afternoon Jeremy is taking Nate trout fishing. Nate has been waiting to fish with Daddy for about 3 yrs now. He got a fishing rod for his birthday years ago that was never opened. Then, one day after moving to Maryland he could stand it no longer. He hid in his closet and opened it one day and it ended up getting broken. So, on his 6th birthday in Maryland some friends gave him some money to buy himself a new fishing pole. Daddy took him shopping and he bought a new Spiderman fishing rod. This was still in it’s packaging until yesterday. This rod doesn’t work for trout fishing though, so they went out Saturday and bought their rods and tackle. Last night while they were practicing casting out in the yard Nate’s fishing line got stuck in our backyard tree. Jeremy pulled and pulled on and finally came out.

This fishing trip was actually initiated at the Gem and Mineral Show a few weeks back. As Jer and the kids were looking at things a man came up to Jeremy and asked if he’d be interested in this fishing class that the Montgomery County Parks Program was putting on. Jeremy felt like it was God’s kindness in bring this opportunity to him. He’s wanted to do this with Nate for so long, but never really had the expertise. So, it’s really neat that this is a class (a FREE class, by the way). I’m so excited that they are finally going to do this!

An interesting bit of triva is that today is my Uncle John’s birthday (John Reece Trout). Trout is my mom’s maiden name and my uncle’s kids are really close to my kids (Kellie, Annie, and Thomas Trout).

I’ll try to get Jer to show me how to put pictures up on here sometime soon. He’s fasting from the computer this week, so it won’t be REAL soon!

The women’s ministry at church is having our yearly Titus 2 Tuesdays (3 Tuesdays in April). They have been so good so far…Carolyn Mahaney taught the first week on the Source of our Justification, the Source of our Ability and the Source of our Motivation in order to prepare our hearts for the 7 habits that would be taught on the following two Tuesdays. It was so encouraging and the Lord has really been focusing my heart on my dependence on Him. I am so prone to be self-sufficient that I often forget to acknowledge Him in all my ways (Prov. 3:6). Last night 3 of the other pastor’s wives taught to encourage us in the first 2 of the 7 habits: rising early and pursuing the spiritual disciplines. Starting off we were once again reminded of Carolyn’s message and how we can earn God’s acceptance or approval based on anything we do. Anything we do is only a means of grace in our lives to know Him more, not for Him to love us more. I believe you can go to www.covlife.org and download the messages for your own encouragement.

Love you all,
Mindy
